Woman Charged After Hitting People and Cars Following Argument at Baby Shower in Charles County

An argument at a baby shower in Charles County on June 1 escalated into violence, leaving four people injured and two vehicles damaged.

According to Charles County police, 53-year-old Robin Alexander of Indian Head is facing multiple charges after allegedly driving her vehicle into several people and cars during the incident, which occurred in the 1300 block of Smallwood Drive West in Waldorf.

Authorities say the dispute began at the baby shower and continued into the parking lot. Alexander reportedly got into her car and intentionally struck the woman she had been arguing with, as well as a bystander. She then accelerated and hit another car containing a child before circling the lot and crashing into the vehicle of the woman she had argued with earlier.

Bystanders in the parking lot slashed Alexander’s tires to prevent her from fleeing before officers arrived and arrested her.

Of the three people struck, one was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, while the other two were treated on the scene. Alexander was also taken to the hospital before being charged with eight counts of aggravated assault and two counts of property destruction.
