Firefighters with Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service were dispatched around 6 p.m. to the 20800 block of Gaelic Court following reports of a vehicle engulfed in flames. Upon arrival, crews discovered that a Toyota Venza parked near the residence was fully involved in fire, and the flames had already extended to the attached townhome. Due to the intensity of the blaze and the risk of further structural damage, officials upgraded the response to a second alarm, bringing additional firefighting units and resources to the scene.
Authorities confirmed that a man inside the home had to be rescued from the back deck after he was unable to safely exit on his own. Fortunately, all three occupants—two adults and one child—were accounted for and escaped without injuries.
