Baltimore, Md. (KM) — A fugitive operation in Frederick on Thursday, led by the US Marshals Service and partner agencies, resulted in the recovery of a missing 16-year-old girl.
The US Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Task Force located 27-year-old Denis Misael Dominguez Reyes, a citizen of El Salvador and suspected member of the MS-13 street gang, at 501 West 7th Street. Dominguez Reyes was wanted following a Final Order of Removal issued by immigration authorities.
During the operation, authorities discovered the missing teenager, also from El Salvador, who had been reported missing by the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office. Officials believe Dominguez Reyes may have been harboring her. She was turned over to local authorities for care and will be reunited with her family.
Dominguez Reyes is currently in Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody and remains subject to removal proceedings.
“Recovering critically missing children is a top priority,” said Clinton J. Fuchs, US Marshal for the District of Maryland. “We will continue to do everything possible to locate these children and reunite them safely with their families.”
The operation also involved the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, Immigration and Customs Enforcement – Enforcement and Removal Operations, and Homeland Security Investigations.
