Police are looking into a double stabbing in Germantown over Labor Day weekend that involved minors armed with BB guns.
Officers responded around 2:34 a.m. Sunday to the 19500 block of Amaranth Drive after reports of a shooting. Investigators learned that several minors had been firing BB guns at a group of people in the neighborhood.
Two men confronted the minors, leading to a fight. One man was stabbed in the back, and the other suffered a knife wound on his arm. Both were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
When police arrived, the groups scattered—some fled on foot, while others tried to leave by car but ended up at a dead end nearby. Multiple agencies, including Maryland State Police and Park Police, assisted in tracking them down. After a large-scale search, 15 people were detained.
No arrests have been made, and officials have not confirmed whether the juveniles involved in the stabbing were among those held. The minors’ ages have not been released, and the case remains under investigation.
