HYATTSVILLE, Md. — Two suspects have been charged in connection with the 2024 murder of 38-year-old Jeiver Pozuelos Cervantes of Hyattsville.
According to the Prince George’s County Police Department, officers were alerted shortly before 6:45 a.m. on October 24, 2024, near the intersection of Veterans Parkway and Riverdale Road, where a man was found unconscious by the roadside.
Emergency responders determined the man had been shot and pronounced him dead at the scene. He was later identified as Jeiver Pozuelos Cervantes.
After more than six months of investigation, authorities have arrested and charged two men in the case.
Jose Guardado-Orellana, 33, and Santiago De La O Lemus, 30, are facing second-degree murder charges, along with additional related offenses.
De La O Lemus was apprehended in South Carolina by the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service in December 2024. Guardado-Orellana was arrested on May 12 by the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Fugitive Unit, with support from the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force.
Detectives allege the killing occurred during an attempted robbery. Both suspects are currently being held without bond at the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.
