Two Found Fatally Shot Inside Maryland Home; Police Call Deaths Domestic-Related

Anne Arundel County police have released the identities of two individuals found fatally shot inside a residence in Harwood, Maryland, as investigators continue to examine what officials have described as a domestic-related homicide.

Authorities said officers were dispatched last Thursday to a home in the 100 block of Harwood Road after receiving a request for a welfare check. A caller reported that the residents had not been seen for several days, prompting concern for their safety. Upon arriving at the scene, officers entered the home and discovered two deceased individuals in separate areas of the residence.

According to the Anne Arundel County Police Department, officers first located a 78-year-old woman, later identified as Sharon Ann Waldow, on the main level of the house. A subsequent search of the home led officers to find a 62-year-old man, identified as Mark Edward Waldow, deceased on the lower level. Both victims were determined to have suffered fatal gunshot wounds.

Police confirmed that the bodies of both Sharon and Mark Waldow were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where autopsies were conducted as part of the ongoing investigation. While the exact circumstances surrounding the shootings have not been publicly detailed, investigators stated that the incident appears to be domestic in nature.

Officials emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the surrounding community. The case was initially classified as a suspicious death investigation, and as of Wednesday, the inquiry remains active and open. Detectives have not announced any arrests or identified a suspect.

Anne Arundel County police are urging anyone who may have information related to the deaths to contact the department’s homicide unit. Tips can be submitted by calling 410-222-4731. Authorities say even seemingly minor details could assist investigators as they work to determine what led to the fatal shootings inside the Harwood home.
