On January 16, 2026, at approximately 3:29 p.m., law enforcement officials released details regarding a traffic stop in Westminster that led to the discovery of suspected illegal narcotics and related items. The incident occurred on Wednesday, January 14, along Baltimore Boulevard and resulted in the arrest of two men from Baltimore County on multiple drug-related charges.
According to authorities, officers assigned to the Pro-Active Community Enforcement (PACE) Team initiated a traffic stop involving a Kia Sedona in the 1400 block of Baltimore Boulevard. The vehicle was stopped after officers observed violations that included excessively tinted windows and failure to comply with a traffic control device. During the course of the stop, a police K9 unit was deployed to conduct a scan of the vehicle. The K9 alerted officers to the possible presence of controlled dangerous substances, providing probable cause for a more extensive search.
Following the alert, officers conducted a search of both the vehicle and its occupants. During that search, law enforcement recovered a significant quantity of suspected narcotics, including more than 44 grams believed to consist of cocaine and fentanyl. In addition to the suspected drugs, officers seized several items commonly associated with the distribution of illegal substances. These included six cellular phones, a digital scale, packaging materials, and close to $1,000 in cash.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 28-year-old Tremaine Gordon Eugene Bishop. The passenger was identified as 24-year-old Robert Lee Johnson III. Both individuals were taken into custody at the scene without incident. Authorities subsequently charged each man with seven separate offenses related to the possession and distribution of controlled dangerous substances.
Following their arrests, Bishop and Johnson were transported to the Carroll County Detention Center, where they are currently being held without bail. Police have not released additional information regarding the specific charges or whether further arrests are anticipated.
Law enforcement officials stated that the investigation remains active and ongoing. At this time, no further details have been made public, and authorities have not commented on whether the suspects may be connected to other criminal activity. Police emphasized that the case continues to develop as investigators review evidence collected during the traffic stop.
