Traffic Stop in Hagerstown Leads to Man’s Arrest on Drug Charges

Hagerstown, Md (KM) – A man is facing multiple drug charges after authorities discovered a large quantity of suspected fentanyl during a traffic stop in Hagerstown last week.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies pulled over a vehicle on Monday night, May 5, near the intersection of North Mulberry Street and East Washington Street. A police K-9 was brought to the scene and alerted to the presence of drugs.

During a search of the passenger, identified as 25-year-old Roate Terrell Wilmer, deputies found 150 capsules of suspected fentanyl weighing approximately 79 grams.

Wilmer was arrested and charged with possession of a large amount of narcotics, drug possession, and possession with intent to distribute. He was taken to Central Booking.

Authorities also noted that Wilmer had an outstanding warrant from Frederick County.
