ROCKVILLE, Md. — A 22-year-old man from McLean, Virginia, has been sentenced to more than 15 years in prison for a high-speed crash in Rockville that killed a woman. Timothy Pack received his sentence Friday in a Maryland court after pleading guilty to several charges, including gross negligent manslaughter by vehicle, second-degree assault, and failing to render aid after a crash.
The incident occurred in the early hours of April 27, 2024. Maryland State Police, along with Montgomery County and Rockville City police, responded to a crash on Rockville Pike near the Federal Plaza Shopping Center.
Investigators determined Pack was driving a 2014 Dodge Charger northbound at speeds between 111 and 118 mph — nearly triple the posted 40 mph limit — when he hit another vehicle. His girlfriend was in the passenger seat and had reportedly asked him to slow down shortly before the collision.
As 25-year-old Jasmin Gimon was exiting the TGI Friday’s parking lot after her shift and attempting a left turn, Pack’s Charger slammed into the driver’s side of her Honda Accord. The impact caused Pack’s car to veer off the road, overturn, and catch fire in the Federal Plaza parking lot.
Pack fled the scene, leaving his injured girlfriend inside the burning car. Diners and first responders helped pull her to safety. She later confirmed Pack’s reckless behavior prior to the crash.
Gimon suffered severe injuries, including broken bones, skull fractures, and traumatic brain damage, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Pack was captured about an hour later and ultimately admitted guilt in court. He will serve 15 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release.
