The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate a fatal crash that occurred Thursday morning just north of Frederick.
According to deputies, 78-year-old Wilie Hensley Jr. of Thurmont was driving a Toyota Highlander on Devilbiss Bridge Road when he turned south onto Old Frederick Road and collided with a Mack dump truck.
Hensley was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
A passenger in the Highlander was airlifted to a trauma center and is reported to be in stable condition. The dump truck driver was checked at the scene but declined medical treatment.
