Suspect Arrested in Connection to March 2024 Shooting on Westbard Avenue

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department’s 2nd District Investigative Section have arrested 22-year-old Devon Edwards in connection with a shooting that occurred early Saturday morning, March 29, 2025, outside Bowlero Bethesda in the 5300 block of Westbard Avenue.

Around 12:22 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered multiple shell casings at the scene.

Surveillance footage showed that two separate groups had exchanged gunfire before fleeing. Although no one was shot, two people suffered minor injuries from broken glass.

As the investigation progressed, detectives identified Devon Edwards—whose address is currently unknown—as one of the individuals who fired a weapon.

An arrest warrant was issued for Edwards on charges including first-degree assault, use of a firearm in a felony, reckless endangerment, and conspiracy to commit malicious destruction of property.

On May 23, Edwards was arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department and taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he is currently being held without bond.

The investigation is ongoing. Authorities are seeking additional information about other suspects involved.
