GAITHERSBURG, Md. — Montgomery County Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred Saturday night, April 26, 2025, on Georgia Avenue at Aspen Hill Road in Silver Spring.
The victim has been identified as 55-year-old Richard Patrick A. Parks of Silver Spring.
Police say the incident happened around 9:59 p.m. when a silver 2024 Acura Integra traveling northbound on Georgia Avenue struck Parks as he was crossing the street. The exact circumstances leading up to the collision remain under investigation.
First responders from the 4th District and Montgomery County Fire Rescue found Parks in the roadway with critical injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
The driver of the Acura, an adult male, remained at the scene and was not injured.
The Montgomery County Collision Reconstruction Unit is handling the investigation and urges anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them at 240-773-6620.
