Voters in Virginia heading to the polls on Tuesday may want to take an umbrella, as isolated thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon and evening.
The day is expected to start with showers, drizzle, and patchy fog, leading into a warm and humid afternoon. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., with the highest chance of rain between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m., potentially impacting voter turnout.
“We may see a bit of sunshine during the afternoon, but that could spark additional showers and thunderstorms into the evening,” said 7News First Alert Meteorologist Eileen Whelan.
The unsettled weather pattern is expected to last through Thursday.

Mostly sunny with lower humidity.
