On October 27, 2025, at approximately 3:21 p.m., authorities confirmed the arrest of a Rockville man following an extensive months-long drug investigation that resulted in the seizure of narcotics, cash, and firearms. The Montgomery County Police Department reported that 33-year-old Elijah Bell was taken into custody last Wednesday by members of the department’s 4th District Community Action Team in coordination with detectives from the Special Investigations Unit.
According to law enforcement officials, the investigation targeted Bell’s suspected involvement in large-scale drug distribution throughout the Rockville area. After gathering sufficient evidence, officers executed an operation that led to his arrest and the discovery of significant quantities of illegal substances and weapons. In total, police recovered 2,726 grams of cocaine, approximately ten pounds of cannabis, two handguns, and around $10,000 in cash. Authorities believe these items were directly connected to Bell’s drug trafficking activities.
Investigators further revealed that both handguns confiscated during the operation had previously been reported stolen. Additionally, due to prior criminal convictions, Bell is legally prohibited from possessing any firearms. His alleged possession of the stolen weapons therefore constitutes an additional violation under Maryland state law.
Following his arrest, Bell was formally charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) with intent to distribute, possession of a CDS, and multiple firearms-related offenses. Police officials emphasized that the successful operation reflects their ongoing commitment to disrupting drug trafficking networks and reducing gun violence in Montgomery County.
Elijah Bell is currently being held without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit pending further court proceedings. Authorities stated that the case remains under active investigation, with detectives continuing to trace the origin of the seized firearms and the broader scope of Bell’s alleged distribution network.
