Prince George’s County Officer Accused of Assault After Allegedly Hitting Bar Worker in D.C

An off-duty Prince George’s County police officer was arrested over the weekend after allegedly punching a bar employee in Washington, D.C., law enforcement officials said.

Lt. Jeremy Ingraham has been charged with second-degree assault following the incident, which took place Saturday evening at a D.C. bar. According to a D.C. police report, the altercation began when a bar staff member attempted to intervene in a fight. Ingraham reportedly took issue with the employee’s actions and struck him in the face with a closed fist.

D.C. police responded to the scene, arrested Ingraham, and charged him in connection with the incident. Prince George’s County Police Department was notified of the arrest the same evening and has since suspended Ingraham from duty.

Ingraham has been with the department since 2012 and was assigned to the Bureau of Investigation, according to a statement released by the department.
