Pedestrian struck during multi-vehicle collision on Baltimore-Washington Parkway

Authorities are urging drivers to follow police directions and anticipate delays following a multi-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway Tuesday morning.

According to Prince George’s County Fire and Rescue Services, the pedestrian suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital. The crash, which occurred shortly after 6 a.m., involved five vehicles in total.

By 6:30 a.m., officials reported that all lanes had reopened and traffic delays were easing. Police continue to investigate the cause of the collision and have advised motorists to expect residual slowdowns in the area.

Separately, another crash occurred on US-50 eastbound at MD-704 (Exit 8), temporarily blocking the ramp. The ramp reopened by 7 a.m., and traffic returned to normal. Earlier, around 5 a.m., a tractor-trailer crash was also reported, though police have not released details about the cause or whether anyone was injured.
