The annual scholarship awards deserving students $1,000
On Thursday, the Montezuma-Cortez RE-1 school district sent out a press release congratulating the recipients of the 2023 Empire Electric scholarship.
“M-CSD RE-1 would like to thank Empire Electric Association, Tri-States and Colorado Country Life Magazine for their ongoing support of education throughout our region, both K-12 and beyond,” the press release said.
The scholarship awards high school and adult learners $1,000 to be used toward their education. Multiple scholarships are available each year, and applications open in the spring and close on June 15.
Previous recipients can continue to apply for the scholarship for three years after the initial award, as long as they are continuing their education.
