Multi-Vehicle Collision in Hagerstown Leaves Two Injured

HAGERSTOWN, MD – A six-vehicle collision on westbound Interstate 70 near Virginia Avenue resulted in two people being hospitalized Thursday morning.

Maryland State Police reported that the crash occurred shortly before 10 a.m. when a vehicle, for reasons still under investigation, veered across lanes and was struck by oncoming traffic, triggering a chain reaction.

Emergency crews transported two individuals to the hospital, though their current conditions have not been disclosed.

The crash forced authorities to close all westbound lanes of I-70 for over an hour, leading to major traffic delays, according to DC News Now.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the accident and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
