Montgomery County Police Seek Public’s Assistance in Identifying Armed Robbery Suspect

Montgomery County police are working to solve a series of armed robberies that they believe were carried out by the same individual.

On Monday, authorities released surveillance images of the suspect, who was reportedly armed with a kitchen knife during the crimes.

The suspect is accused of robbing two gas stations on Thursday: Liberty Gas Station on S. Frederick Avenue and Sunoco Gas Station on Frederick Road, escaping with an undisclosed amount of cash in both instances.

On Sunday, police say he attempted another robbery at the Exxon Gas Station on Muncaster Mill Road. According to investigators, he initially bought a pack of gum before returning to the counter with a large kitchen knife. He then tried to stab the cashier, who managed to take cover behind the counter and lock the door, forcing the suspect to flee without stealing any money.

No injuries were reported in any of the incidents.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, between 5’8” and 5’10” tall, weighing 170 to 190 pounds, and wearing a large black coat, blue knit hat, white and black button-down shirt, and red and black sneakers.

Police are asking anyone with information to reach out online or call 1-866-411-8477.
