Maryland Man with Alzheimer’s Reported Missing

Missing Elderly Man with Alzheimer’s May Be in Fort Washington, Police Say

WALDORF, Md. — Authorities are searching for a missing 86-year-old Maryland man, and concern for his safety is growing.

The Charles County Sheriff’s Office reports that Richard Wilson Jr. disappeared from the Constitution Hills area off McDaniel Road in Waldorf. He has Alzheimer’s disease and was last seen on January 25 before 4 p.m. Officers responded to his home on Sweetbay Street around 6 p.m. after he was reported missing.

Wilson Jr. is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds, and possibly wearing a tan winter coat, blue hat, and blue jeans. While he may have his cellphone with him, he is unable to use it.

Investigators believe Wilson Jr. may have left the Waldorf area by unknown means and could now be in the Fort Washington area.

His family is deeply concerned due to the cold weather and the length of time he has been missing.

Anyone who may have seen Richard Wilson Jr. is urged to call 911, contact the Charles County Sheriff’s Office at 301-932-2222, or reach out to their local police department.
