Retired Montgomery County Fire Captain Involved in Airport Assault
Dulles International Airport, VA (DG) – A Maryland man was taken into custody and faces charges of assault and disorderly conduct after a March 13 incident at Dulles International Airport.
The altercation happened at Gate D12, where 54-year-old Christopher Stuart Crittenden—identified as a retired Captain from the Montgomery County Fire Department—allegedly struck a United Airlines gate agent.
The entire confrontation was recorded by witnesses and has since circulated widely online. Following the incident, the Airports Authority’s fire and rescue team transported the injured employee to a nearby hospital for medical care.
United Airlines has since issued a statement confirming that Crittenden is permanently banned from flying with the airline.
The incident is still under active investigation.
