Authorities detain 58-year-old Myron Stone Scriber following an alleged assault at Little Flower School.
ST. MARY’S COUNTY, Md. — A man was taken into custody Tuesday morning after reportedly attacking a staff member at Little Flower School in Great Mills and later engaging in a confrontation with law enforcement.
The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance at the Catholic school around 7:45 a.m. A 911 caller reported that a man had assaulted a staff member before fleeing on a bicycle.
Deputies arrived and located a suspect matching the description. When approached by officers, the man allegedly charged at a deputy, leading to a brief struggle involving both deputies and a Maryland State Trooper. Law enforcement managed to subdue and arrest him.
Authorities identified the suspect as 58-year-old Myron Stone Scriber of Callaway. Investigators also connected him to another incident minutes earlier, where he was seen riding his bicycle erratically on Route 5 near Holy Face Church in Great Mills.
Scriber was taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown and charged with two counts of second-degree assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and disrupting school activities. Officials confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing.
