Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for Brutal Stabbing of Two Women in Lexington Park Home Invasion

LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — A man who violently attacked two women during a home invasion in St. Mary’s County has been sentenced to life in prison.

Terek Demaury Ross, 29, was convicted for breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home on August 3, 2024, and stabbing both her and another woman multiple times before stealing a vehicle and fleeing the scene. Both victims were flown to hospitals for emergency life-saving treatment.

Ross received a life sentence, with 50 years of active incarceration for two counts of attempted first-degree murder.

“This was one of the most savage instances of domestic violence our community has seen,” said State’s Attorney Jaymi Sterling. “While no sentence can erase the trauma these victims endured, this 50-year sentence helps deliver justice and security for them and our community.”

Deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 21000 block of Ronald Drive around 5 a.m. on the morning of the incident. The victims reported that Ross forced entry into the home and stabbed one woman several times. She managed to escape and call 911. Ross then turned on the second woman, attacking her before she too escaped and sought help from a neighbor.

After the assaults, Ross fled the scene in one of the victim’s cars.

Authorities quickly alerted neighboring jurisdictions. Deputies with the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office later located Ross driving the stolen vehicle on Maryland Route 4 and took him into custody without incident.

Ross was taken to the Leonardtown detention center and charged with multiple offenses, including two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of attempted second-degree murder, and two counts of first-degree assault.
