Frederick Man Arrested on Child Pornography Charges
Frederick, MD – A 26-year-old Frederick resident, Christopher Aviles, has been charged with three counts of possessing child pornography. He was taken into custody on Wednesday after authorities executed a search warrant at his residence on the 7000 block of Hames Court.
According to the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began on February 13, 2025, when they received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding suspected child sexual abuse. A subsequent search of a related social media platform led investigators to uncover three files containing child sexual abuse material, ultimately resulting in Aviles’ arrest.
In addition to the possession charges, officials confirmed that Aviles is classified as a Tier One sex offender and is listed on the Frederick County Sex Offender Registry.
He is currently being held without bond at the Adult Detention Center. The Sheriff’s Office has stated that the investigation is ongoing and encourages anyone with relevant information to contact Detective Staub at 301-600-3679.
