Authorities in Montgomery County are continuing to investigate a stabbing incident that left three people hospitalized Monday morning in Rockville. The circumstances leading up to the attack remain unclear, and police are working to determine exactly what led to the violence.
According to the Montgomery County Police Department, officers were dispatched around 9:20 a.m. to the area of Crabbs Branch Way and Indian Head Drive, near the Redland Crossing Homeowners Association, after receiving reports of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they discovered three individuals suffering from stab wounds. A department spokesperson reported that all injuries are currently believed to be non-life-threatening, though the victims’ updated medical conditions have not been released. All three were transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
Preliminary findings indicate that the attacker stabbed two family members before also injuring a good Samaritan who attempted to intervene. Police have not provided details about the relationship between the involved family members, nor have they shared any potential motives behind the assault. At this stage of the investigation, detectives have not disclosed whether the attack stemmed from a domestic dispute, an argument, or another underlying issue.
The individual believed to be responsible for the stabbing had fled the scene before officers arrived and has not yet been taken into custody. No identifying information—such as the suspect’s name, age, or description—has been released, as investigators continue efforts to locate the person involved.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as the investigation remains active. Police have emphasized that determining the motive and identifying the suspect are top priorities, as resolving the case is crucial for both community safety and the well-being of the victims.
