FREDERICK, Md. – A Frederick man is in custody following two armed robberies that occurred within an hour of each other on July 22, 2025, according to the Frederick Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
The first incident occurred around 1:01 p.m. in the 1300 block of West Seventh Street. The female victim told police that a man blocked her car door, shoved her into the passenger seat, and demanded her purse while threatening to shoot her. Although no weapon was seen, the suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing. Surveillance footage captured the suspect driving an older model silver or white Volvo hatchback, seen exiting the area near Ashley’s Furniture.
Roughly an hour later, around 2:10 p.m., officers responded to a similar armed robbery in the 7800 block of Wormans Mill Road. The suspect in that case approached a woman, pressed an unknown object to her head, and demanded money before fleeing with more cash. The description matched the earlier robbery.
Shortly after the second report, Master Police Officer Clinton located a vehicle matching the suspect’s car—a Volvo hatchback—in the Walmart parking lot on Monocacy Boulevard. The driver, later identified as Eugene Rilla Facon, was wearing clothing identical to that seen in surveillance videos. A search of Facon and the vehicle turned up evidence linking him to both crimes.
Facon, 61, of the 2400 block of Ellsworth Way in Frederick, was arrested and booked into the Frederick County Adult Detention Center. He faces two counts of armed robbery.
