An Ijamsville, Maryland, man is facing multiple serious drug-related charges following an arrest that stemmed from a lengthy regional drug trafficking investigation. Authorities announced that 59-year-old Glenn Aaron Wells was taken into custody on Tuesday at his residence located at 10043 Old National Pike. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted in collaboration with the Baltimore/Washington High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force.
According to law enforcement officials, a search of Wells’ home led to the seizure of a substantial quantity of illegal drugs and cash. Police reported recovering approximately 765.8 grams of cocaine and 56.6 grams of methamphetamine. In addition to those substances, officers located a large number of suspected prescription pills, including 94 pills believed to be M30 oxycodone, 38 pills suspected to be M15 oxycodone, and three K8 pills also believed to be oxycodone. Investigators also confiscated $39,336 in cash, which authorities believe is connected to illegal drug distribution activities.
Following his arrest, Wells was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, where he is currently being held without bond. Law enforcement officials indicated that the amount and variety of substances recovered suggest involvement in large-scale drug distribution rather than personal use.
Frederick Police stated that the investigation into Wells began in October of the previous year. Detectives allege that Wells, who is also known by the nickname “G,” was involved in the distribution of multiple controlled dangerous substances, including cocaine, within Frederick County. The investigation was carried out through a coordinated effort involving the Frederick Police Department, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, the State’s Attorney’s Office, and Homeland Security Investigations.
As a result of the evidence gathered, Wells has been charged with numerous offenses, including possession of a large amount of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute cocaine and crack cocaine, distribution-related offenses within a school zone, possession and intent to distribute oxycodone, and illegal possession of ammunition. Several of the charges carry enhanced penalties due to the alleged proximity of drug activity to a school zone.
Authorities emphasized that the arrest reflects ongoing efforts by local and federal agencies to combat drug trafficking in the region. The investigation remains part of broader initiatives aimed at reducing the distribution of illegal narcotics and improving public safety throughout Frederick County and surrounding areas.
