Frederick County Circuit Court Issues Sentence in Drug Trafficking Case

Frederick, Md (KM) – A 47-year-old man from Prince George’s County, Tully Hamilton Washington, was sentenced to 14 years in prison on Monday in Frederick County Circuit Court for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. Washington was found guilty of the charge by a jury on June 23, 2024.

The conviction stemmed from a Frederick Police Tactical Investigations Unit operation conducted on July 8, 2023, at a residence on North Maxwell Avenue. During a search of the property, officers discovered 15.9 grams of cocaine in a bedroom closet where Washington was staying.

Investigators also uncovered text messages on Washington’s cell phone, obtained via a court-approved search warrant, which provided evidence of his involvement in drug trafficking.

“Driven by greed, these criminals destroy lives, tear apart families, and harm our community,” stated Frederick County State’s Attorney Charlie Smith. “This sentence, along with the work of ASA Paul Tumulty, demonstrates that those dealing in highly addictive illegal drugs will face justice in Frederick.”

Assistant State’s Attorney Paul Tumulty prosecuted the case on behalf of the State of Maryland.
