Florida Suspect Charged in Leesburg for Displaying Gun While Under the Influence

On November 18, 2025, shortly before 11 a.m., authorities released additional details regarding the arrest of a Florida man accused of displaying a firearm while intoxicated in downtown Leesburg. The incident occurred during the early morning hours of Saturday, November 15, and has resulted in multiple criminal charges for the suspect.

Leesburg Police reported that officers were dispatched at approximately 12:53 a.m. to the 500 block of East Market Street after receiving calls about an intoxicated individual who had been removed from a nearby business. According to investigators, the man—later identified as 42-year-old Jon E. Holland of Orlando, Florida—was escorted out of the establishment due to his behavior. After leaving the premises, Holland reportedly walked to his vehicle, retrieved a handgun, and displayed the weapon in front of the business before driving away from the area.

Officers located Holland a short time later in a nearby parking lot. A traffic stop was initiated, during which police determined he was intoxicated and in possession of a firearm. Authorities say the weapon, which was loaded and unsecured, was found inside his vehicle during the arrest process. Holland was taken into custody without incident.

He now faces several charges, including brandishing a firearm, carrying a handgun while under the influence of alcohol, and driving while intoxicated. Following his arrest, Holland was transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, where he is currently being held without bond pending further court proceedings.

The Leesburg Police Department continues to gather information related to the case and has encouraged anyone with knowledge of the incident to contact the agency at 703-771-4500. Investigators have not released any additional details about Holland’s actions prior to being removed from the establishment but emphasized that the situation could have resulted in more serious consequences given the involvement of a loaded firearm.
