Deputies Seize Over 13 Ounces of Suspected Cocaine During Traffic Stop

FREDERICK, MD – On the evening of Tuesday, July 15, 2025, around 8:33 p.m., a Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) deputy initiated a traffic stop on westbound Route 340 near Route 180 due to an equipment violation.

During the stop, the deputy became suspicious of possible drug activity and called in a K9 unit for assistance. The K9 conducted a scan of the vehicle and signaled the presence of narcotics.

A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered roughly 385 grams (13.58 ounces) of suspected cocaine, divided into multiple bags.

The driver, identified as 25-year-old Donta Shawn Allen of Baltimore, MD, was the only person in the vehicle. He was arrested on the scene and taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.

Allen faces the following charges:

  • Felony: Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine

  • Misdemeanor: Possession of Cocaine (Not Cannabis)

  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
