Charles County Man Sought After Remote Control Dispute Leads to Assault

CHARLES COUNTY, Md. — Authorities in Charles County are seeking the public’s help in locating Cliffton Eugene Greenfield, who allegedly stabbed a relative during an argument.

Greenfield, a Maryland resident, is wanted on charges of first-degree assault. According to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), the incident occurred on Jan. 10 after an argument over a TV remote escalated.

Police say Greenfield stabbed his relative in the head and neck during the altercation. Another family member at the home transported the victim to the hospital, where they were treated for severe injuries.

When officers arrived at the scene, Greenfield had fled and has been evading authorities since. The weapon used in the assault and the current condition of the victim have not been disclosed.

Greenfield is described as 6 feet tall, weighing 220 pounds, and missing his left arm.
