Carroll County Authorities Arrest Drug Suspect, Seize Narcotics and Ghost Guns
Taneytown, Md. — A 25-year-old man was arrested in Carroll County on Tuesday for alleged drug trafficking, leading to the seizure of narcotics and two unregistered firearms.
Amir Marquise Cole of Taneytown was taken into custody during a traffic stop outside an apartment on East Baltimore Street. Police say they discovered 17 grams of suspected cocaine in his possession. He is currently being held without bond at the Carroll County Detention Center.
A search of the residence uncovered marijuana, cocaine, mushrooms, drug paraphernalia, packing materials, and $3,930 in cash, which authorities believe is linked to illegal drug sales. Additionally, police found two unregistered firearms: an AR-15 pistol platform and a 3D-printed Glock-style handgun, both lacking serial numbers. Ammunition for the weapons was also recovered.
Cole faces 22 charges, including firearm possession in a drug trafficking crime, possession of firearms without serial numbers, and multiple drug distribution and possession offenses. He is also wanted in Pennsylvania for drug-related crimes.
The arrest resulted from a joint investigation involving the Carroll County State’s Attorney’s Office, the Carroll County Drugs and Firearms Trafficking Task Force, and the Pro-Active Community Enforcement (PACE) Team, in collaboration with local law enforcement agencies.
