Castlevania: Nocturne is a spin-off of the popular Castlevania anime series, which is based on the long-running video game franchise of the same name. The original series, which ran for four seasons on Netflix, followed the adventures of Trevor Belmont, Sypha Belnades, and Alucard as they fought against the evil forces of Dracula and his army of vampires. The spin-off series, which will premiere on September 28, 2023, will feature a new cast of characters and a new setting, inspired by the games Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
The story of Castlevania: Nocturne takes place in 1792, during the French Revolution. The protagonist is Richter Belmont, a descendant of Trevor and Sypha, who continues the family tradition of vampire hunting. He is joined by Maria Renard, a young girl with magical abilities, and Annette, a Caribbean sorceress who escaped from vampire slavery. Together, they face a new threat: a vampire messiah who plans to plunge the world into eternal darkness. Along the way, they encounter old enemies and new allies, as well as secrets from their own pasts. The series promises to deliver stunning animation, thrilling action, and emotional drama for fans of the Castlevania universe.
