Frederick Police Charge Six Suspects With Breaking & Entering, Firearms Offenses

Authorities in Frederick reported that a group consisting of five adults and one juvenile was taken into custody last week in connection with weapons violations and a breaking-and-entering incident. The arrests stemmed from a call that came in on Tuesday, November 18, when officers were dispatched around 2:30 p.m. to the 1000 block of Redfield Court for a burglary reported to be in progress.

According to the Frederick Police Department, responding officers quickly identified a vehicle matching the description provided by the caller. The vehicle was seen attempting to leave the area as officers arrived. A traffic stop was conducted, and all six individuals inside the vehicle were detained for further investigation. Officers then carried out a search of the vehicle, which led to the discovery of two loaded Glock-style handguns. A third similar firearm was located on the juvenile who was among those detained. Police also recovered several fully loaded magazines that were compatible with the seized weapons, further elevating officers’ concerns about the group’s activities.

Investigators later determined that the six individuals had attempted to enter an apartment that was unoccupied at the time. The motive behind the attempted break-in has not yet been disclosed, but the findings at the scene quickly resulted in multiple criminal charges.

The adults arrested were identified as 19-year-old Christian McCauley, 21-year-old Jose Aud Sanchez, 20-year-old Rahmann Anderson, 18-year-old Justin Yovanni Acosta, and 19-year-old Jayden Hoy. All five were transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center following their arrest. They are each facing a list of charges that includes wearing, carrying, or transporting a handgun in a vehicle; conspiracy to commit the same offense; possession of an unregistered firearm; possession of a regulated firearm while under the age of 21; and breaking and entering a dwelling.

Police confirmed that the juvenile involved was also taken into custody. However, consistent with state law and departmental policy, no identifying information about the juvenile suspect will be released to the public.
