Two Pennsylvania State Troopers Injured and Hospitalized Following Franklin County Shootout

Franklin County, PA (JK) – A retail theft in Guilford Township escalated into a deadly shootout on Interstate 81 Wednesday afternoon, leaving one suspect dead and two Pennsylvania state troopers critically injured.

The incident began when troopers responded to a report of stolen merchandise worth over $1,000 from Dick’s Sporting Goods. Surveillance footage identified three suspects, including 31-year-old Lamar Lorenzo Foy, who fled the scene in a green Chevrolet van with Maryland plates.

State police located the van traveling south on I-81 and initiated a pursuit. Officers deployed tire deflation devices near Exit 3, successfully stopping the vehicle. While two female suspects surrendered peacefully, Foy opened fire on troopers, hitting two. Officers returned fire, fatally striking Foy.

Inside the van, authorities discovered large amounts of THC, unidentified powders, unmarked capsules, cash, scales, and other drug paraphernalia. The injured officers, identified as Troopers Pack and Amarose, were airlifted to the hospital and remain in critical and serious condition.

State police continue to investigate the sequence of events leading to the confrontation.
