Greenbelt Police are actively investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a teenager on Sunday afternoon.
According to officials, officers responded around 1:45 p.m. to reports of gunfire near Breezewood Court and Cherrywood Terrace. When they arrived, they found a teenage victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The teen was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.
Investigators say a silver Infiniti drove by and opened fire on a group of people, striking the teen. The vehicle, which reportedly had dark-tinted windows and no front license plate, has not yet been found. Police have no suspects in custody and continue to search for those responsible.
