Prince George’s County Man Accused of Brandishing Gun in Beltway Road Rage Confrontation

Maryland State Police have charged a Prince George’s County man with multiple felonies after he allegedly brandished a gun at another driver during a road rage incident on the Beltway.

Eric Scroggins, 52, of Temple Hills, faces charges of first- and second-degree assault, along with use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He was later released on a $2,500 bond.

The incident occurred Thursday around 4:20 p.m., when a driver reported that another motorist had aimed a weapon at them while traveling on I-495 near Annapolis Road. Investigators identified Scroggins and, during a traffic stop, recovered a loaded firearm from his vehicle.
