Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives with the Montgomery County Police Department’s 5th District Investigative Section have arrested 44-year-old Nicholas Lloyd of Germantown in connection with a shooting that occurred on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, in the 20000 block of Shadyside Way.
Officers responded to the scene around 11:51 p.m. following reports of gunfire. Investigators determined the incident was tied to a continuing dispute involving multiple people. After the shooting, Lloyd exited his home and provided aid to one of the male victims, who was later taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. A second man, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds, was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The third male victim sustained only a grazing wound and was treated at the scene. The female present was unharmed.
Authorities recovered Lloyd’s rifle and took him into custody. He was booked at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit and charged with three counts of attempted second-degree murder, three counts each of first- and second-degree assault, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and additional weapons offenses. He remains in custody without bond.
