Eduardo Alexander Alvarado Urrea, 20, of Silver Spring, was killed after a shooting incident involving a pickup truck on eastbound I-70 in Frederick County, Maryland, late Saturday night.
According to Maryland State Police, Urrea was one of six people inside a pickup truck when someone in another vehicle opened fire on them while traveling along I-70. The pickup was later located in the 600 block of Lakeview Drive in Mount Airy just before midnight.
Urrea was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was also shot and transported to a trauma center for treatment. Police have not released the driver’s identity. One passenger declined medical attention, while the remaining three were unharmed.
Investigators say the group had just left an event at the Frederick Fairgrounds around 11:40 p.m. before the shooting occurred.
Authorities are urging anyone with dashcam footage from eastbound I-70 between 11:30 p.m. and midnight on Saturday to contact the Maryland State Police Frederick Barrack at 301-600-4150.
