Frederick, Md. (KM) — A Frederick man is facing multiple drug, firearm, and theft charges following an incident on Wednesday. Police arrested 42-year-old Carl Terrance Mobley, Jr.
According to the Frederick Police Department, officers responded to a call in the 500 block of North Bentz Street regarding a report of vehicle tampering. A caller reported finding a man inside her car smoking a cigarette. When confronted, the man fled toward Market Street.
Police soon located the suspect, and the caller identified him as the individual she found in her vehicle. Mobley was arrested, and during a search, officers discovered crack cocaine, digital scales, and a loaded Taurus 9mm handgun.
Mobley faces numerous charges, including theft from a motor vehicle; possession of drugs with intent to distribute; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; possession of a controlled dangerous substance (excluding cannabis); theft under $100; rogue and vagabond; carrying a handgun; carrying a loaded handgun; using a firearm in a drug trafficking crime; and drug distribution while armed.
He is currently being held without bond at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
