Fire Causes Damage to Home Tuesday Night in Frederick County

“House Fire Reported on Bowers Road in Frederick County”

Frederick, MD (KM) – A single-family home in Frederick County sustained fire damage on Tuesday night.

Emergency crews responded to the 6900 block of Bowers Road, west of Frederick, at 8:27 PM after reports of smoke coming from the house, according to the Frederick Scanner Facebook page. Upon arrival, firefighters found an active blaze in the basement and requested both a Rapid Intervention Dispatch and a Fire Task Force for additional support.

As a precaution, nearby structures were evacuated, and Bowers Road between Shookstown Road and Route 40 was temporarily closed to accommodate firefighting efforts. Highway crews were also deployed to salt the roadway.

Fire officials reported that the fire was brought under control by 9:28 PM, though firefighters remained on-site to monitor and extinguish any remaining hot spots.

All occupants of the home safely evacuated and were accounted for, with no reported injuries.
