Eva Turner Elementary School will be closed on Thursday.
WALDORF, Md. — A suspected gas leak has prompted the closure of an elementary school in Charles County.
The school will remain closed to students and staff on Thursday as maintenance teams work to locate the source of the issue. As of 7 a.m., the cause of the suspected leak has not been identified.
Washington Gas is assisting with the investigation, and families and staff will receive updates through automated phone calls, emails, and text messages. The AlphaBest before- and after-school program has also been informed and will notify participating parents.
