ROCKVILLE, Md. — A car crashed into a Rockville fitness store on Thursday night, causing significant damage but no serious injuries.
Emergency crews were called to the Johnson Fitness store on Nebel Street at around 7:25 p.m. Firefighters discovered that an elderly driver had accidentally driven into the building. The driver was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to a Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson.
A parked car outside the store was also damaged, but no one inside the business at the time was hurt.
The Johnson Fitness and Wellness store will remain closed until the building is repaired. A reopening date has not been announced.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and no further details have been released.
